Tencel Fabric

Tencel at TradeUNO — Tencel and cotton-Tencel grounds at 54 and 60 inches in plain weave, currently stocked mainly as schiffli-embroidered cloth.

Tencel is lyocell: a cellulose fibre made from wood pulp in a closed-loop process where the solvent is recovered and reused, which is why it carries a materially lower environmental footprint than viscose made the conventional way. It is also stronger wet than most cellulose fibres, so it washes better.

On handle it sits between cotton and silk — cool, smooth, with a soft drape that suits dresses and co-ords. The 60-inch width cuts wide garments without joins.
