Chiffon is the lightest of the sheer group. Where georgette has a faint grain and some body, chiffon is smoother and more transparent, and it falls almost vertically — which is why it is the standard for saree pallus, layered dupattas and floaty overlays rather than anything that needs to hold a shape.
