Suiting Fabric
Suiting fabric at TradeUNO — suiting at 56 and 58 inches, including Japanese suiting and woollen suiting, sold by the metre and in bulk.
Suiting is defined by behaviour rather than fibre: it has to hold a pressed edge, resist bagging at the knee and elbow, and keep its shape through a day of wear. Wool does this naturally; polyester-wool blends do it more cheaply and travel better.
The 56 and 58 inch widths are standard for tailoring and cut a jacket with far less wastage than narrow goods. Buy the full quantity for a suit in one lot — jacket and trouser cut from different dye lots will not match under daylight.
