Ajrakh Print Fabric

Ajrakh fabric at TradeUNO — Ajrakh-pattern cotton at 44 inches (1.12 m), sold by the metre and in bulk.

Ajrakh is a resist-printing tradition from Kutch and Sindh built on a long sequence of hand stages — repeated resist application, natural dyeing in indigo and madder, and washing between each — which is why genuine Ajrakh reads deep and slightly irregular rather than flat and uniform. The characteristic palette is deep indigo, madder red, black and undyed white.

Natural-dyed cloth bleeds on the first wash. Wash separately in cold water, and expect the colour to settle rather than fade.
