Tussar Silk Fabric

Tussar silk at TradeUNO — wild silk at 42, 44 and 46 inch widths in plain weave, including slub tussar.

Tussar is reeled from wild silkworms rather than farmed mulberry, which is why it carries a deeper gold-beige tone, a coarser hand and visible slubs along the yarn. It is less lustrous than mulberry silk and more textured — closer to raw silk than to satin. Per-metre prices are listed on each product page.

That texture is what makes it hold block print and kantha work so well, and why it suits structured kurtas, jackets and everyday sarees rather than draped gowns. Boutiques, saree labels and export houses order here in bulk, with wholesale pricing and dispatch across India, the USA and Dubai/UAE.
